SHINTY - Glenurquhart teenagers show their class to win London Shield
GLENURQUHART celebrated silverware success as their talented teenagers lifted the London Shield after beating Newtonmore 4-2 in the final.
They lifted the trophy on home soil as the final took place at Blairbeg Park in Drumnadrochit.
Daniel Maclean was the star of the show as he scored all four goals for Glenurquhart as they went on to lift the shield.
He scored within the first 60 seconds of the match, but James Coyle equalised for Newtonmore three minutes later in a frantic start. Maclean grabbed his second midway through the first half to give them a 2-1 lead at the break.
But Coyle levelled for Newtonmore eight minutes into the second half to make it 2-2.
Maclean then grabbed his hat-trick with 20 minutes remaining before killing the game off in the 79th minute to land Glenurquhart the title.
