Shinty - Strathglass to take on Inverness as Balliemore Cup draw throws up tasty derby clash in opening rounds





The draw has been made for The Ferguson Transport and Shipping Balliemore Cup.

Strathglass and Inverness will face each other in the second round at Cannich after both teams were given a bye in the first round of the competition.

Strathglass are back in the National Division this season after winning the North Division One title in 2024. Penri Jones was named North Division One’s player of the year in 2024.

Inverness will be looking to mount a title challenge in North Division One this season.

Other local interest sees Glenurquhart taking on Col Glen at Blairbeg Park in Drumnadrochit in the first round.

Glenurquhart were relegated from the Premiership last season after finishing bottom of the table.

Their youngsters did celebrate some success last season when they won the London Shield.
