Lauren Doherty was the star of the show as she bagged eight goals in a devastating performance.

Caley Thistle Development head coach Ally Munro praised the battling qualities of their opponents but felt fitness proved to be the difference.

“Nairn St Ninian did fine but maybe our girls’ fitness was better.

“With the age of our squad they have the advantage of doing physical education at school on a daily basis.

“Lauren took a few years out to concentrate playing shinty, but she is now back with the development squad and is doing really well.

“We have a young group of players, where some of them have not played 11-a-side before.

“So it was good for them to adapt to the size of the pitch and giving them a chance to play matches.

Caley Thistle Development play their next friendly on Saturday morning against Moray Girls Under-16 at Fort George.

They are also lining up a friendly against Highland and Islands League rivals Caithness next weekend.
