Rugby and football sevens tournament cancelled due to coronavirus pandemic

The North of Scotland Sevens is the latest sporting event to be cancelled as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

The event was due to take place at Canal Park.

The event which was due to feature seven-a-side rugby and football tournaments at Canal Park in Inverness on June 20 and 21 will not go ahead in a bid to reduce the spread of the virus.

The event was due to coincide with the Highland Gin and Beer Festival which has also been cancelled.

Organisers have announced it will plan to hold the event on Friday, June 18 to Sunday, June 20 in 2021.
