Ross Sutherland lose in 13-try thriller

It was an unlucky 13 for Ross Sutherland as Mackie FP scored seven tries to their six in a 47-36 defeat in Caledonia North Two.

Player and head coach John Mann scored a hat trick of tries with Jamie Johnston, Jacob McCormack and Ross Mellis also going over to earn them a bonus point at the Naval Grounds.

But the Stonehaven outfit showed why they are one of the form teams in the division as they outscored their opponents.

Despite the defeat, Mann was pleased with the performance from his team who had 15 players missing who were at Murrayfield watching the Scotland v Fiji match.

“If you were a neutral it would have been an enthralling game,” he said.
