The Ross County Foundation have launched the Former Players Association which will aim to bring together former players and managers from the club’s journey to date.
As the first formal concept of the new Ross County Foundation era, the Former Players Association will act as a point of connection for former players and managers to re-engage with the football club in an exciting new chapter for the foundation.
The FPA has already had a variety of ex-players from a range of decades joining up, ranging from former defender Robbie Williamson to recent academy graduate Josh Reid.
Members will be connected with a range of social events throughout the year designed to raise funds for the foundation. This will be coupled with attendance at first team games as club ambassadors and a host of other benefits for members.
Members will also receive monthly e-magazines with key features around the history of the club and memorable moments as well as the current progress of the club in the Premiership.
On the launch of the Former Players Association, foundation manager Dale Pryde-MacDonald said: “This is our first project since re-launching the foundation and is something we are all really excited to get off the ground.
“Personally, I have been overwhelmed by the response of former players and their enthusiasm for what we are trying to do. We want to create a culture that allows us to connect the dots from ‘then, now and forever’ that ensures we acknowledge what has gone before, what is happening right now and what we can achieve going forward together.
“Launching the FPA allows us to really spread the family feel that Ross County has and bring players that have played for us over the years back closer to the club. Again, this is a project that I have to thank Steven Ferguson for his support on this – as well as being our first member – and helping to facilitate some of the early conversations.”
Club chief executive officer Steven Ferguson added: “The launch of the FPA is a really exciting chapter for the club and foundation. I was only too happy to sign up and I look forward to seeing many familiar names and faces from across our history come together.”
