John Robertson lavished praise on Ayr United – but is in no doubt Inverness Caledonian Thistle have the ability to overcome the Championship’s most complete team.

The Inverness manager is enthused by the prospect of locking horns with the surprise league leaders and targeting what would be an extremely valuable three points.

Currently 11 points behind the Honest Men heading into the live televised showdown, the swing of six either way could greatly shape title ambitions entering 2019.

Robertson’s only focus is building positively on Tuesday night’s 6-1 Scottish replay triumph over Edinburgh City.

“It is going to be tough – I’m really looking forward to it,” he said.

“We had a cracking first match against Ayr, a 0-0 draw but a really good game with chances at both ends."
