Robertson wants to see Caley Thistle 'slow-starters' move into the fast lane against Dunfermline

John Robertson is urging in-form Caley Thistle to use the next three matches to bury their reputation as Championship slow starters.

In the Inverness manager’s first season, a much-revamped squad managed just one win in the opening nine league games.

Last season, they navigated the first 14 Championship matches unbeaten, but with only three wins amid a damaging rash of draws.

Victory away to Dunfermline tomorrow would make it three wins and a draw from five at the outset of a promising promotion campaign, with winnable home matches against Queen of the South and Partick Thistle up next.

“The intensity in training has been sensational since the second Morton game and the players are reaping the rewards,” Robertson said.

“We’re coming into a very crucial set of games now.

“If we can go to Dunfermline and win, it sets us up for two home games and a spell where we could find ourselves finishing the first quarter very strongly."
