Caley Thistle manager John Robertson says Ross County should have been reduced to 10 men seconds before Charlie Trafford got sent off in their 2-1 derby defeat on Tuesday night.

But he had no complaints about the Canadian international being sent off branding his rash tackle on Jamie Lindsay stupid.

The sending off happened just before half-time and Robertson was adamant County should have gone a man down before he saw his own side reduced to 10 men.

"The key moment for us is when Liam Polworth is clearly fouled by Ross Draper and he should have got a second yellow and they would have been down to 10 but the referee played on.

"Charlie is stupid, he slides in and we’ve warned him countless times to stay on his feet and from the referee's perspective he has done the right thing.

"He catches the player and has no option.

"Ross County realise Ross Draper dodged a bullet and substituted him at half time.

"That tells you all you need to know that they know he fouled Polworth and should have been sent off."
