Revitalised Lovat happy with MacAuley Cup draw

An improved and replenished Lovat squad will relish a Macaulay Cup away-day in Kinlochshiel.

That was the assessment of team manager Fraser Gallacher after the Kiltarlity men landed one of the toughest ties of the first round draw.

Kinlochshiel knocked Lovat out of last season’s competition with a 1-0 victory and also beat them twice by a single-goal margin in the Marine Harvest Premiership campaign.

But Gallacher is warning the Balmacara hosts, come May 4, they could face a significantly stronger Lovat than the one they pipped to fourth place in the league on goal difference.

“It’s a difficult draw, but I don’t suppose Kinlochshiel will be happy with it, either,” Gallacher insisted.
