Report Highland consortium launches bid to take control of Inverness Caledonian Thistle

A report claims a Highland businessman is fronting a consortium who are looking to launch a bid to takeover at Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

The Sun have reported that a group led by a Highland businessman is behind an attempt to take over the League One club.

This is despite negotiations taking place between Seventy7 Ventures being believed to be approaching the final stages with a deal for them to take over as the majority shareholder.

Seventy7 Ventures executive director Ketan Makwana previously told the Inverness Courier that he expected the deal to be completed by the end of the month.

It has been reported details of the fresh bid are expected to be made later this afternoon by Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

It is also reported that chief executive Scot Gardiner will leave Inverness Caledonian Thistle after he handed his resignation earlier this summer.

More to follow.
