The Staggies go into the match off the back of a disappointing 4–1 defeat to Motherwell on Wednesday night, but Rangers were on the wrong end of a shock 1–0 loss to Hamilton themselves.

That followed other surprise results for Rangers, after they lost 1–0 to Hearts and drew 2–2 with St Johnstone.

For County co-manager Ferguson, Hamilton’s display during the week has shown that it is possible to get a result this weekend.
