Previous defeat has no bearing on Clach's Turriff United clash
Clachnacuddin manager Brian Macleod does not think the last time his side faced Turriff United will have any bearing on tomorrow’s match.
It was one of Macleod’s first games in charge back in October, and Turriff came out on top, winning 2-1.
But the Clach boss says his side has changed so much that it is impossible to take any insight from that defeat into the return tie at Grant Street Park.
“It’s completely different,” Macleod insisted.
“I would expect Turriff to set up quite similarly, you kind of know what to expect from Kris Hunter’s team.
“They play good football, they like to play the ball out from the back, I think we know what we’re going to get from them.
“But in terms of ourselves, we’re a completely different side from then. I would expect far more from us on Saturday. We know what we’re going to face, so we’ll be well prepared.”
Home advantage could play a big factor too – and Clach’s form in Inverness is one of the major differences Macleod can point to since taking over.
“We’re far more solid, far more resolute,” he explained.
“We’re probably harder to beat now than we were back then. Teams know they’re going to get a difficult game.
“One of the things I wanted to do was make Grant Street a difficult venue to come to.
“Before it was far too easy for teams to turn us over. I wanted to make it a difficult place for teams to come, and I think we’ve done that.”
James Beeston is the club’s only injury concern, and they will be able to welcome back Scott Dunn from suspension.
Macleod says having a full squad is a big bonus going into the tail end of the season.
“We’re getting boys back which is great, I don’t think I’ve had a full squad to choose from since I’ve taken over,” he said.
“Normally you come into this stage of the season and it’s difficult because you’ve got players unavailable through suspensions and injuries, but we’re the opposite.
“We seem to be getting the players back, which is great.
“It’s going to be a difficult end to the season, we’ve played the least games out of everyone, so it’s going to be tough for us playing Saturday-Wednesday.
"We’re going to need everyone available for that."
