Portland win top of the table clash in Inverness darts league

Portland A claimed the bragging rights in the top of the table clash with Innes Bar C in the Inverness Winter Darts League A League winning 8–4.

Innes Bar players Nigel Goulding and Kevin MacGregor both hit maximums as did Martyn Cameron for the Portland and he also checked out on 101.

Craig Quinn had 13 and 15 dart legs for the Portland and team-mate Nicky Denoon went out in 14 darts while Kevin MacGregor also hit a 171.

East End Arrows were held to a 6-6 draw by Tarradale but still remain in third spot in the table.

David McGruer hit two maximums for Tarradale while Ally Ross was also on target with 180 with one each to Arrows player’s Nigel McEwan and Steve Munro while Allan Fraser had a 177.

Jackos moved into fourth spot with a 7-5 win over Still Game despite a maximum from Jim Newlands.

Battlefield Bullies won the relegation battle with Innes Power and created a three point gap at the foot of the table after their 8-4 win. Steve McCluskey had an 11 dart leg with a maximum for the Power and John Duncanson hit a 180 for the Bullies.

In the B League Innes Spikeys moved clear at the head of the division and remain undefeated after an 8-4 victory over Blacksmiths. Stuart Pearce hit a 180 for Spikeys. Castle Street Elite kept the pressure on Spikeys with a 7-5 win at home to British Legion and the Elite stay second, just two points behind the leaders. David Stuart hit two maximums for the Legion while Daniel Mullen and Kieran Knox hit a 20 dart 701 leg in the pairs for the Elite.

Thistle B moved clear of the relegation zone with a 7-5 win away to the 147 Buddies with Robert Robson from Thistle checking out on 102.

It’s still very close in the C League with only a couple of points separating the top five teams. Canteen had the biggest win of the night with a 10-2 victory over SoBar Pirates and share the lead in the table with Arrowsmiths.

Graham Buchan hit a brace of 180’s for the Canteen while Dylan Johnstone had a 104 checkout for the Pirates.

Arrowsmiths dropped their first points of the season as they lost 7-5 against Raigmore Motel and are now level at the top of the table with Canteen.

3 Scots defeated Blazin 81 9-3 with Malcolm Wilson hitting a 180 for the winning side. Innes X and Keppoch Belles went all the way to the end and finished in a 6-6 draw as these sides clashed for the first time since the Belles were formed. Mandy MacKenzie had the top checkout of the night as she finished 130 for the Belles.

In the Black Isle Darts League, Strathpeffer Golf Club defeated champions Ross-shire Club 6-4 in the top clash in the Black Isle Darts League.

In the other matches, Muir of Ord Golf Club whitewashed Plough Inn 10-0, while Union Tavern were held to a 5-5 draw by Oscars Bar.

Will Hermitage checked out in the final leg to earn Oscars a point.

Highland take on East Stirlingshire at the Raigmore Motel on Saturday in their third Scottish

League match. The Ladies B match will start at 10-30 followed by Mens B, Ladies A and

Mens A matches.
