Inverness hosts South Highland Schools Athletics Association Inter-School Sports Championship with pupils from 38 schools represented





TOP young athletes from schools across the region competed against each other at a major athletics event in Inverness.

The South Highland Schools Athletics Association held their annual Inter-School Sports event at Queens Park Stadium on Saturday.

Pupils from 38 schools from across the South Highland region took part in top competition with a number of races taking place throughout the day.

As well as team competitions, prizes were given out for the top male and female athlete of the day.

Oskar Jesionowski from Kirkhill Primary was crowned male athlete of the day.

Jessica Calder from Milton of Leys Primary School was named as the top female athlete of the day.

The event was split into six sections where schools battled it out for the top prizes.

In Section One, Milton of Leys Primary School were awarded The Inverness-Shire Education Authority Shield.

In Section Two, Inshes Primary School were awarded The Claymore Trophy.

In Section Three, Crown Primary School were awarded The Bught Shield.

In Section Four, Kirkhill Primary School claimed The Grigor Cup.

In Section Five, Tomnacross Primary School from Kiltarlity lifted The Col J.A Mackintosh Trophy.

Abernethy Primary School.

Finally in Section Six, Abernethy Primary School from Nethy Bridge were victorious to lift The Murray Challenge Trophy
