A little bit of rain is not stopping play as the Macdonald Spey Valley course in Aviemore hosts the Tartan Pro Tour.

The second day of play of the three-day MacDonald Spey Valley Masters presented by The Mackay Clinic is currently underway on the award-winning course with a prize fund of around £25,000 up for grabs.

The cut at the end of day yesterday was +2 with Wales’ Gareth Wright taking a one shot lead with his five under 66.

The Tartan Pro Tour is the development tour for male and female players based in Scotland and all events are played over 54 holes across three days.

As part of the tour’s visit to the Macdonald course, a pro-am for local businesses in the Highlands was held on Monday and, like today, the amateur players had to contend with the rain.

“We would like to thank all the entrants and sponsors for supporting the event.

“It was a fantastic day despite the weather."
