PICTURES: Highland Boxing Academy recognise athletes for their efforts over the 2021/22 season as Inverness club holds end-of-year awards night

Highland Boxing Academy recently held their end-of-season awards for the 2021/22 campaign, with a number of athletes winning prizes.

When all was said and done, Joshua Morrison was the big winner of the night, held at Inverness Ice Centre.

He won four separate awards – earning the most votes to be crowned the people's champ as well as being named youth boxer of the season and being involved in the club's fight of the season.

Morrison's fourth trophy was shared with Joe Kinsella, as the duo could not be separated for the hot streak award.

Closely following Morrison in terms of a trophy tally was Keigan Mackenzie, who earned three awards on the night.

Mackenzie took the Knockout King award, as well as being named junior boxer of the season and winning the seasoned boxer award.

Youngster Mckenzie Tyronney was rewarded for his efforts across 2021/22 with two trophies of his own to take home.

He was HBA's school boy boxer of the season, while also being picked as the winner of the critics' choice award for last season.

Other winners included Andrew Mclaughlan, who was named Highland Boxing Academy's most improved boxer, and female boxer of the season Catrin King.

Sarai Grant was given the 2021/22 ambassador award in recognition of her achievements in boxing, which include a gold medal at the Lonsdale Box Cup.

Finally, Steven Munro was not at the awards night, but was also named senior boxer of the season.
