Olympic hopeful given special send off by Inverness Harriers athletes
MEGAN Keith was given a special send off in Inverness as she heads to the Olympics in Paris to compete in the 10,000 metres.
Inverness Harriers held a special presentation at Queen’s Park Stadium to wish the 22-year-old all the best as she prepares to compete against the best in the world next weekend.
Keith is set to run in the 10,000 metres final at the Stade De France in Paris on Friday, August 9 with the race scheduled to take place at 7.55pm.
The former Millburn Academy pupil has spent the summer training in Inverness with her coach Ross Cairns in preparation for the biggest race of her career next weekend.
Athletes at Inverness Harriers wished her well at the athletics track located beside Inverness Leisure Centre.
They gave her a standing ovation as she walked out the ground as she heads to join the Great Britain squad.
She also competed in the 5000 metres at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary 12 months ago.
