Nine for Clyne with Edinburgh triumph

Alan Clyne secured an astonishing ninth national squash title and a fourth in a row at the 2019 Sterling Trucks National Championships.
The Munlochy athlete beat fellow Black Isle squash star Greg Lobban in a repeat of last year’s final to seal victory at Edinburgh Sports Club (ESC).
Lobban was in great form and at a career high world ranking of 27 going into the men’s event.
That pushed Clyne down to second seed for this year’s competition, despite being the defending champion.
However Clyne produced some impressive squash on his way to the final, particularly impressing in Saturday’s 11-9, 11-1, 11-7 semi final victory over Stuart George.
