New bus service created to help Inverness Caley Thistle fans get to stadium
NEW additional bus services have been announced which will take place on matchdays when Inverness Caledonian Thistle play at home this season.
The Inverness Caledonian Thistle Supporters Trust have agreed a deal with Stagecoach to provide additional bus services on matchdays which will begin tomorrow
The service is set to begin at Caley Thistle’s next home match against Cove Rangers on Saturday.
An additional bus service will leave Inverness Bus Station at 1pm, with a return journey from the Caledonian Stadium at 6pm.
These new journeys are in addition to the long-established journey from the Bus Station at 2.15pm and the return 10 minutes after the full-time whistle.
When games are at times other than 3 pm on a Saturday, the Supporters Trust and club will let fans know what the times of the journeys will be.
In addition, Stagecoach are donating fare revenue from passengers using the matchday service against Cove Rangers on December 28 to the Supporters Trust.
The Inverness Caledonian Thistle Supporters Trust says with volunteers taking over the running of Bar 94 at the stadium and fans staying longer after full time with the bar being open, they wanted to create more opportunities for supporters to stay.
In a statement they said: “Since Bar 95 was refurbished by volunteers with extended opening hours, the Supporters Trust has been looking at additional ways on enhancing the matchday experience and making it easier for fans to attend games.
We have worked with Stagecoach and ICTFC and are delighted to announce that there will be additional bus services on matchdays, starting from the Cove Rangers game on Saturday, December 28.
“Stagecoach are kindly donating fare revenue from passengers using the matchday service on December 28 to the Supporters Trust, and we really appreciate that gesture.
“The Supporters Trust is grateful to Stagecoach for coming on board as a partner to provide this enhanced service, and we hope as many fans as possible will take advantage of it.”
