Nairn Academy pupil Lauren James has been selected to become a young ambassador for SportScotland.
The 16-year-old is one of 32 people from across the country who will aim to promote sport and motivate other young people to get involved in sport in their schools, clubs and local communities.
Speaking about being appointed to the role, she said she was looking forward to getting stuck in.
“I’m really pleased to be involved in the delivery team,” she said.
“I hope to use my own personal experience to inspire new, young ambassadors and enjoy every minute of the year ahead.”
