Nairn start Highland League campaign with win while Clach lose





NAIRN County kicked off the new Highland League season with an impressive 2-0 victory against Deveronvale in Banff.

But Clachnacuddin failed to get off the mark going down 2-0 to Strathspey Thistle in Grantown.

Nairn picked up their first three points of the season thanks to Liam Shewan scoring in the first half and new signing Gordon McNab scoring after the break.

Meanwhile Fort William, who started seven of nine players loaned from Inverness Caledonian Thistle, went down 6-0 against Brora Rangers at Dudgeon Park.
