The club have lost star striker Adam Macleod who has signed for Highland League heavyweights Buckie Thistle on a two-year deal.

Saints are in the process of a rebuilding job after losing a number of players from the previous season.

But manager Keith Mason, who is preparing his team for their opening league match against East End in Aberdeen this weekend, is confident he can bring in new personnel and have a successful season.

“We are still looking at bringing more in,” said Mason.

“We have a squad of 22 training every week, but we are looking to get a couple of extra players. We have lost Adam Macleod who has gone to join Buckie Thistle, and we are delighted players can come here and progress as it shows what we can do at junior level.

“A couple of boys have relocated for work purposes, but it’s a new season, we have to get in new personnel as it is a revolving door.

“It is something I have to learn as a manager.”

Nairn St Ninian lost their final pre-season clash 4-1 to Forres Mechanics last weekend.

But Mason believes he can start their campaign at East End with a positive result.

“We will concentrate on what we do and make sure the players do what we ask them to do.

“If we do that, we don’t need to worry about other teams. But we will find out 2pm what they are like and hopefully come back with three points.

“We are just happy to
play football, we will try
and get as many points as
we can and find out if we have had a good season where we finish in the league table.

“We want to be as competitive as we can and the majority of our squad is new faces.

“So it is about getting them to get and getting them to play the kind of football to play.”
