Nairn St Ninian cause major shock as they progress to final of Dominos Regional Cup final
NAIRN St Ninian are through to the Dominos Regional Cup final as they caused a major upset to defeat Buchanhaven Hearts 2-1 at Nairn Showfield in their semi final clash on Saturday.
Ciaran Young scored the winner in injury time as the North Region Championship outfit defeated the North Region Premiership club from Peterhead.
Saints fell behind midway through the first half but levelled on the stroke of half time with a strike from Marc Macdonald.
They game appeared to be heading to extra time when Young scored the winner in injury time to send Nairn St Ninian into the final.
Young has been on loan at Nairn St Ninian from Highland League club Nairn County this season.
They will now face the winner of the semi final between North Region Premiership leaders Culter and North Region Championship winners Lossiemouth United who play next weekend in Aberdeen.
Nairn St Ninian are in seventh place in the North Region Championship and have missed out on the chance to get into the Premiership play-offs this season.
