Nairn County boss Sharp keeping feet firmly on ground after beating Brora Rangers
Manager Ronnie Sharp is refusing to get carried away with Nairn County’s perfect start in the Highland League.
His team caused the upset of the season so far with a 1-0 victory over title favourites Brora Rangers at Station Park thanks to Max Ewan’s first half strike.
Four wins from four has made Nairn the surprise package of the season so far as they lie three points behind leaders Fraserburgh with a game in hand.
But as they prepare to head to Inverurie Locos on Saturday, Sharp has been quick to dampen down any talk about his team being dark horses to challenge for the title.
“It is totally premature to say that,” he said.
“We are nowhere near that yet as there are some really good teams in the league.
“On Saturday we play another one of them, Inverurie, and two weeks after that we play Fraserburgh.
“We are not in the running at all."
