The club have announced tonight they will not play again until current lockdown measures are lifted and it is safe to resume training and playing.

In a statement on their social media sites, they said: "We have made this decision to help protect and support our players, management, committee and more importantly our local community.

"We will be able to enjoy football once again and welcome everyone to the Showfield when it is safe to do so."

Nairn St Ninian were due to play Keith outfit Islavale in the NRJFA League Cup group stage at The Showfield on Saturday but that game will now not go ahead.

It is not yet known if other NRJFA teams will follow the decision by Nairn St Ninian.

Tomorrow night, the North Caledonian Football Association will decide whether to suspend their season due to the national lockdown.

All 12 clubs, including Nairn County A, as well as Inverness Athletic and Loch Ness will take part in the virtual meeting.

The Scottish Professional Football League and Highland League have announced they will continue games during the lockdown period.
