Nairn County reserves set for North Caledonian League challenge

NAIRN County’s successful bid to join the North Caledonian League will be “massive” in developing young players, according to director of football Graeme Macleod.

The move, six months in the making, was voted through at the league association’s AGM on Sunday evening.

In recent years, Nairn’s 16 to 20-year-olds have played in the North of Scotland FA’s under-20s league.

But with only six teams involved, the 10 league matches have had to be supplemented by regular friendlies, with frequent call-offs proving disruptive.
