NAIRN County manager Ronnie Sharp said Wednesday night’s 4–2 North of Scotland Cup first round defeat to Lossiemouth was unacceptable.

As a result, he is set to ring the changes for tomorrow’s Highland League match at home to Deveronvale as he is looking for a response after being knocked out of the North of Scotland Cup.

Sharp says Lossiemouth were the better team on the night and deserved to go through as they taught his players a lesson.

“Outworked, outplayed, it was a simple as that,” said a dejected Sharp.

“They were a better team than us right from the off.

“We were slack and slow straight away, we had chances and they deserved to win. From our point of view it was a poor performance. It is not acceptable, especially as it was our first home game.

“There was a lack of quality and we lacked energy and I didn’t expect that performance.

“We are back to square one, and as we look forward to Saturday, I will make changes as we didn’t get the energy we were looking for.”
