Nairn County confirm versatile star Angus Dey has signed contract extension with Station Park outfit to stay at Highland League club
Nairn County have confirmed that Angus Dey has extended his contract with the club for the next two-and-a-half seasons.
The versatile midfielder is now signed up with the club until the summer of 2027.
The 30-year-old moved to Station Park in 2018 and made his debut in a 1-1 home draw with Rothes on August 29 that year.
Since then, he has shown his versatility by appearing in every position on the park for Nairn except from goalkeeper, and the club say they will also support Dey in his progression into coaching beyond his playing days as part of this new deal.
Manager Ross Tokely was please to tie up another member of his squad on a long term deal. He said: "Gussie is an important member of the squad as he can fill a number of positions for us – this season alone he has played in the middle of the park and in both full back positions.
"Moving about different positions does not faze him, which is one of his strengths. He is a good trainer as well and good to have in the changing room.
"Gussie is now one of the senior members of the squad and will continue his work into coaching by going through his badges with the club over the next couple of years as well."
In total to date, Dey has made 125 appearances for Nairn County, scoring nine times.
He was part of the team which lifted last season's North of Scotland Cup, appearing in all rounds en route to that silverware success.
