Nairn County’s most regular player in 2024/25 season Ali Morrison sees loan from Ross County extended until end of the Highland League season

Nairn County have confirmed that their loan deal for Ross County youngster Ali Morrison has been extended until the end of the season.

Morrison has played the most minutes of any Wee County player so far in the 2024/25 campaign, scoring once, but his initial deal had been set to expire this month.

However, the two clubs have come to an agreement that will see the 18-year-old defender remain at Station Park until the end of the Highland League season.

Nairn manager Ross Tokely said: "We are delighted to have secured Ali's services until the end of the season. He is progressing well in his development with us and has established himself as an important member of the squad.

"He still has a lot of his development years ahead of him but you can definitely see improvements in his game over the time he has been with us – the number of appearances he has made for us is testament to the levels he has reached on a consistent basis.

"We are looking forward to continuing to work with him throughout the rest of the season and I would like to thank Don Cowie, Gary Warren and the rest of the staff at Ross County for continuing to trust us with Ali's development."

Ross County’s head of youth development and academy operations Gordon Duff commented: ‘We are really pleased to have Ali’s loan extended. He is playing regular men’s football which is helping his development greatly.

“He has been an important part of both our under-18 side and Nairn County’s season so far and hopefully this can bring continued success.’
