Nairn County 4

Inverness Caledonian Thistle 1

HOLDERS Nairn County began their defence of the North of Scotland Cup in ruthless fashion as they eased to victory over a young Inverness Caledonian Thistle team at Station Park.

Nairn broke the deadlock after seven minutes when Callum Maclean nodded home a corner kick from close range.

The hosts doubled their advantage 10 minutes before half time when Fraser Dingwall got the final touch in a scramble for a corner kick to fire home.

Scott Lisle found Nairn’s third in the 56th minute before Matthew Wright made it four just before the hour mark.

Shae Keogh pulled one back for Inverness in the 64th minute, but Nairn County comfortably saw out the game to book their place in the next round.
