Carson not relying on Highland's cup win over Cartha last season

Dave Carson is confident his Highland side can come away from Glasgow with a win against Cartha Queens Park, but he is not reading too much into their victory in the central belt last season.

A 32-3 win over Watsonians in the Scottish Cup will have boosted morale in a squad that is already used to winning, having secured back to back promotions in the last couple of years.

Whereas Super6 side Watsonians were an unknown quantity last week, Carson knows all about Cartha going into tomorrow’s match.

And he is hoping that to ride the crest of last week’s wave all the way to Glasgow and back.

“It’s our first away trip this season,” Carson said.

“We went down there last year and played them in the cup and had a really tough battle and came away with a win."
