It was announced yesterday the 31-year-old will not be remaining with the Lilywhites as he opted to leave to start a new chapter in his career.

Finnis was at the club for 12 years since signing in 2009.

He was part of Clachnacuddin’s League Cup-winning side in 2014, and went on to become the club’s captain.

In a statement released yesterday, the club confirmed that Finnis was leaving Grant Street Park.

They said: “Michael has played a key role in the club since signing in 2009.

“He was part of our League Cup-winning side in 2014, and has gone on to captain the club in recent years.

“We would like to put on record our thanks to Michael for all his efforts and commitment over the years.

“We wish him well in the next chapter of his career.”

His departure comes as Clachnacuddin have signed a number of existing players up to new deals in recent weeks.

They include midfielder Eachainn Miller, with the Western Isles footballer agreeing to stay on a three-year-deal.

Winger Blair Lawrie signed a new two-year extension to his deal which will see his association with Clachnacuddin extend to 15 years.

Experienced defender Ryan Mackintosh also penned a new extension to his current contract.

Martin Callum also agreed to a two-year extension to stay at the Lilywhites earlier this year.

Other Clachnacuddin players who signed new deals include Connor Bunce, Stephen Kenny and Thomas Lewis.

Midfielder James Fraser, forward James McLaren and goalkeeper Jack Faren have all signed contract extensions with the Lilywhites for the new season.
