Main honoured in testimonial return
Nairn County 0
Ross County 3 (Draper, Fontaine x2)
Gregg Main made his long-awaited return to action as Wee County welcomed Ross County to Station Park for the Nairn captain's testimonial.
After missing last season through injury, Main was named in the starting line up alongside his brother for the first time in 14 months against the Staggies.
And the midfielder was certainly kept busy against a team three tiers above them who saw the majority of the ball throughout the match.
It was a Ross County midfielder who made the breakthrough in the scoring - Ross Draper getting on the end of Sean Kelly's corner to nod in at very close range.
That lead would be extended in the second half from two more set pieces, both times seeing Tony Dingwall deliver to Liam Fontaine.
The first was from another corner just after the hour mark, with the second coming from a free kick on the Staggies' right wing.
But the day was all about Main, who after the third goal went in was substituted after putting in a shift for 80 minutes to a loud ovation from the Nairn faithful.
