The Merkinch club released a statement that they had reluctantly accepted Macleod's resignation due to personal reasons.

The 38-year-old took over as manager of the Lilywhites in October last year.

After just two league games in the 2019/20 campaign the club said Macleod had decided to step down from his role.

Clachnacuddin released a statement saying: "Whilst the timing is not ideal for either party, circumstances have unfortunately changed over recent weeks and Brian can no longer dedicate the time required to successfully fulfil the role of first team manager.

"The club is sad to see Brian go, but we wish him and his family our best wishes and thank him for his efforts and commitment during his time in charge."

Assistant manager Darren Jarvie will take temporary charge until a successor has been appointed.

Clachnacuddin head to Fraserburgh in the Highland League on Saturday.
