Macleod lays down challenge to Clach players

New Clachnacuddin manager Brian Macleod said his players needed to start showing how good they were and that football was not played on paper, it was played on the pitch.

The former assistant manager returned to Grant Street Park on Tuesday after being announced as the man to take over from Iain Polworth, who left last month.

Clach are in 16th place in the Highland League with just four points after 10 games.

But Macleod is confident he has the players at his disposal to climb up the table but said they needed to prove how good they were during 90 minutes, starting with a home game against Huntly tomorrow.

“It is a massive job at the best of times,” he said.

“But the position is we find ourselves in third bottom of the league."
