LOCH Ness put daylight between themselves and the chasing pack at the top of the premier league with a 3-0 victory at Maryburgh.

The Inverness side are in pole position after a clinical display against their nearest rivals although Avoch and NMM Sam's may also have a say in the outcome of this year's championship race.

Ryan Ingram headed Loch Ness into the lead mid-way through the first half after he was left unmarked at a Scott Morrison corner.

James Murray doubled the lead just before the hour mark when he swept home an Allan Fraser delivery after Loch Ness broke at pace.

Loch Ness' top scorer, Johnny Hewitt came off the bench to notch goal number three after Murray picked him out with a precision pass.

Delighted Loch Ness manager, Shane Carling said: “It was a great performance from start to finish. We were outstanding all the way through from the defence to the strikers. It's an absolutely massive result.”

NMM Sam's are still very much in contention after they came from a goal down to win 3-1 against Bellmac, despite having a player sent off.

Dean Allison fired Bellmac in front before Sam's forward John MacLaughlin was sent off after he picked up a second booking.

But the 10 men hit back through Mark Mackenzie just before half time.

Mackenzie was on target again after the break and Charlie Fonweban rounded off the comeback with a deft chip.

In a remarkable turnaround, Police came from 4-1 down at half time to deny Ardersier their first win of the season in a 4-4 draw.

Scott Mutch, Richard Boyd, Ryan McPherson and Lewis Major were all on target for Ardersier in the first half, but a Ruaraidh Stark double and counters from Aidan Grant and Ewen Reid squared matters.

Avoch kept in the hunt thanks to a last minute goal from Iain Penwright in a 1-0 victory against Contin at Munro Park.
