The Lilywhites were in rampant form as they scored all three goals within the first 23 minutes.

Clach broke the deadlock after nine minutes when Robbie Thompson laid on a great pass for James Anderson in the box and he fired a low drive past Graeme Williamson.

Clachnacuddin doubled their advantage seven minutes later when a cross from the right wing found Lewis Mackenzie in the box who composed himself before firing past Williamson.

The Lilywhites were then 3–0 up after 23 minutes when Martin Callum received a pass from halfway and played through to Connor Bunce who fired into the back of the net from 10 yards out.

The victory has set up a North of Scotland Cup semi final clash at Rothes on Wednesday, August 31.

MacDonald previously said Clach were guilty of not taking their chances after the 2–1 defeat at Keith last weekend.

But he was pleased with the first half blitz during midweek, and wants to take that forward into tomorrow’s clash against Turriff United at Merkinch at Grant Street Park.

“The win was everything that we are about.

“We were quick, incisive, great movement and we had great finishes.

“When we are good at it, we are hard to stop.

“We are in the next round of the Cup which we are pleased about.

“We look forward to facing Rothes in two weeks time, but Turriff United at home is the next objective for us.

“We wanted to bounce back from the defeat at Keith and we did that against Wick.

“But we need to start picking up more points in the Highland League.”

MacDonald was pleased with how new signing Aly Riddle performed and says Wednesday night showed they have depth in their squad.

“Aly was outstanding, Martin Callum and Blair Lawrie came into the middle of the park and were excellent.

Lewis Mackenzie made his first start and took his goal well.

“We wanted to build the squad since we have come in and we are getting there which we are happy about.”
