Gordon Lennox says he will be looking to make it a hat trick of Highland Cross wins next year after he successfully defended his title last weekend.

The Kindeace athlete won the competition for the second year in succession as he cruised to victory in a personal best time of 3 hours 25 minutes 22 seconds.

He beat his fellow Inverness Harrier John Newsom, who claimed silver in 3:31:50, while Ewan McCarthy, of Kingussie, earned bronze in 3:34:04.

Lennox (34) said at the finishing line he will definitely look to make it three wins in a row if he is given the chance.
