Nairn County A manager Stuart Finnie says Scourie are a potential banana skin as they look to avoid slipping up in the North Caledonian League Division Two title race.

The Highland League club’s reserve team moved two points clear at the top of the table after defeating Loch Ness 5–3 at Canal Park last week.

Scourie suffered a 13–0 hammering to Alness United last week and have conceded 28 goals in three games.

But Finnie is taking nothing for granted believing the North-West Sutherland outfit will learn and improve as the season goes on.

“From a neutral point of view you would think it would be an easy one,” he said.

“But for us we’re looking at this as a potential banana skin.

“If we don’t keep the high standards and drop off a little bit and don’t have the correct attitude we could easily get beat.

“I am not focusing on their results and I’m more worried what we’re doing.

“If we turn up and think it’ll be a walk in the park, we’ll get beat.”

“In the Highland League, a number of teams came to Nairn County thinking that last season and they got beat.

“Brora Rangers, Inverurie and Fraserburgh came down and none of them went away with a win.”

Lewis Mitchell is the only absentee as he continues to recover from damage to his deltoid muscle.
