Law selected for European Team Championships

Kirsty Law has won her third major Great Britain vest as the sole women’s discus thrower at next month’s European Team Championships in Poland.

The 32-year-old Inverness Harriers life member, who currently tops the British rankings with a throw of 57.66m, takes up this selection following an appearance in the 2015 Team Championships in Russia.

She also competed at the European Championships in Berlin last year.

This latest honour takes her to Bydgoszcz from August 9th to 11th.

Last summer, she announced her retiral from the sport, but she changed her mind three months later and is now enjoying her best ever season – her 18th as an international athlete.

“With the selectors meeting this week, I was quite nervous about somebody else maybe throwing big last weekend which might have kept me out,” she said.
