Kirkhill runner and Inverness Harriers member Mhairi Maclennan to run for Great Britain and Northern Ireland at European Road Running Championships





Mhairi Maclennan will be representing Great Britain and Northern Ireland at the 2025 European Road Running Championships.

The 29-year-old has been named one of two women in the squad for the marathon, after being the first Brit across the line at the London Marathon earlier this year.

She had also won the Scottish Championships in a record-breaking at the Inverness Half Marathon before stepping up to the longer distance.

An Inverness Harriers member, Maclennan is still coached by Ross Cairns, and will be joined by Georgina Schwiening of the Cambridge Runners in Belgium next April.

The sole UK representative for the men’s Marathon is George James (Rob Russell, Dorking and Mole Valley).

The selected 10km team for will be announced on March 5, with the half marathon team announced on February 19.
