'Shiel will be better this time against Lovat





Kinlochshiel manager Johnston Gill says his team will be a tougher prospect for Lovat in the MacTavish Cup first round tomorrow.

On the opening day of the Premiership season, the Wester Ross outfit were thrashed 5-0 by the current league leaders.

But after an encouraging 1-1 draw away to Oban Camanachd last week, Gill believes his team will be more prepared at Balgate.

"I don't want to make excuses, but we didn't have that many games on grass before that, whereas Lovat had a number of friendlies before that match

"It was obvious that we were not up to speed that day.

"But Lovat have a strong squad this season with players they have brought in and guys they have got back from injury.

"They are going to be a big test for us on Saturday. "However we have had a really good result against Oban Camanachd and we are confident."
