Kingussie go clear at the top of the Premiership

Kingussie replaced Lovat at the top of the Mowi Premiership after a 4-1 win over Kinlochshiel at Balmacara.

Shiel took an early lead through John MacRae before Savio Genini struck twice to take Shiel in at the interval 2-1 ahead. Roddy Young increased Kings’ advantage in the 52nd minute with Genini completing his hat trick six minutes later to make sure of the points.

Lovat drop to second after their first loss of the season going down 3-0 to champions Newtonmore at Balgate. All the goals came in the first half with Iain Robinson’s 4th minute strike added to by a Glen MacKintosh double.

Caberfeidh picked up their first points of the campaign through a 3-1 win over Kilmallie at Castle Leod. Craig Morrison opened Cabers’ account in the 10th minute before Kilmallie responded through Craig MacIsaac in the 28th minute. Cabers quickly regained their lead with a Robbie Brindle goal and with five minutes remaining, Kevin Bartlett struck to safely wrap up the points.
