Inverness quartet set to start defence of their league title on Sunday

Top table tennis players from across the region are set to take each other on as the new Highland Table Tennis League start on Sunday.

A total of 10 teams from across the Highlands and Moray are set to compete in the competition this season.

Last year’s champions Inverness A, will be looking to retain their title. Inverness B and Inverness C will also be competing in the competition this season.

Nairn A and B, along with Dingwall, Fort William, Moray, Tain and new entrants North Coast Table Tennis from Wick have entered this season.

As with last year, the league will see top Scotland junior players Connor Cadden. Alexander Stepney and Lacey Cadden, along with others from the junior ranks in Inverness, compete in the league.

Last year, Cadden went through the season undefeated, and he will be looking to retain his player of the season title once again.

The first day of competition will take place on Sunday at Inverness Tennis and Squash Club.

The other two days of competition will take place on Sunday, January 19 and Sunday, March 9.
