Inverness manager inducted into hall of fame

INVERNESS Caledonian Thistle manager John Robertson will be inducted into the Scottish Football Hall of Fame.

The 54-year-old is the most prolific goalscorer in the history of Heart of Midlothian where he scored 214 league goals over 17 years.

He was spent the majority of his playing career at Tynecastle who he won the Scottish Cup with 1998.

Robertson who was capped 16 times for Scotland, scoring three goals, departed Hearts in 1998 to join Livingston as a player-coach, starting a new phase of his career.

His was first appointed manager of Inverness Caledonian Thistle in 2002 where he led them to the Premiership in 2004.

He was also manager at Hearts, Ross County, Livingston, Derry City and East Fife before returning to Caley Thistle in 2017.

Speaking about his induction Robertson said: "It will be an honour and very humbling to see my name alongside so many legends of Scottish football including Hearts greats Dave Mackay, Willie Bauld, Bobby Walker and McCrae’s Battalion."

Robertson will be inducted at the Hall of Fame dinner at Hampden Park on Sunday, October 27.
