Inverness Harriers athlete Luke Davidson was honoured when he received the Eric Liddell Recognition Award.

The award is given to Scottish athletes who have compassion, integrity and passion in athletics over the course of the year.

Davidson became Scottish 800 metres champion at the Scottish Senior Track and Field Championships in Grangemouth in August.

He was originally meant to be competing in the 1500 metres at the championship.

But due to his religious beliefs, he pulled out of the race as it was being held on a Sunday.

He decided to compete in the 800 metres final on Saturday and claimed gold winning in a time of 1:54.51.
