Inverness Harrier wins silver at World Championship





Abbie McNally has won a silver medal at the World Para Athletics Junior Championships in Switzerland.

The Alness athlete, who trains with Inverness Harriers, claimed second place in the T35- T38 200 metres at Notwill on Thursday.

Cardenas Herrera Karla Sofia of Mexico won gold with Memmer Anika Sophie of Germany claiming bronze.

McNally (18) who has cerebral palsy, will also compete in the under-20 women’s section of the T37 100 metres.

The University of the Highlands and Islands student is one of 15 athletes representing Great Britain at the World Championships.

Writing on her Twitter page, she said: "Honestly can't believe it!! Silver medallist!"
