Inverness Four Day Open reaches last eight stage

The Inverness Four Day Open has reached the quarter final stage at Inverness Golf Club.

Last 16 matches took place during Wednesday morning when tournament favourite Kyle Godsman from Moray Golf Club made it safely through to the last eight with a 4/3 win over Aidan Stewart.

He faces Steven Buchan from Invergordon who beat Robin Fraser one up.

Inverness player Ruaridh Greenwood comfortably saw off Cruden Bay's Graeme Gunn 6/5 and faces Marc Coull from Kemnay who beat John Macaulay 2/1.

Last year's runner-up and 2016 champion Kieran MacKay thrashed Kingussie's Norman MacWillam 8/7 and faces Greg Bennett who beat James Greenwood one up.

In the final quarter final, Calum Daun beat Alan Coutts 5/4 to face Neil McPhie who beat Stephen Davidson 3/2.
