HEAD coach Billy Dodds says Inverness Caledonian Thistle are waiting to find out how long striker Billy Mckay and defender Danny Devine could be out for after confirming both have suffered injuries.

Billy Mckay was out of the squad against Dunfermline Athletic on Saturday due to injury.

Mckay did not feature in the squad in Saturday's 1–1 draw against Dunfermline Athletic.

Meanwhile, Devine was forced off injured in the first half at East End Park and left the trackside in crutches.

Dodds hopes Mckay will not be out for action for too long, saying: "Hopefully it is not too bad and it would be nice to get back in the squad as it was a blow to lose him."

But he fears Devine has suffered a bad injury which forced him to go off, saying: "We will assess it, it is not a good one."

Dodds says he was pleased with his team's performance, in particular in the first half.

But he felt Dunfermline deserved a point for the way they responded after the break.

"My team were brilliant first half and deserved the lead," said Dodds.

"I thought we could have been further in front, fair play to Dunfermline, they battled and changed their shape and had a real go at us and I thought we weathered it.

"But they kept going and got the penalty and they deserved the penalty.

"I think we need to make sure of the rules and we defend properly and not get caught."

Inverness have only won four games in their last 15 league matches but have only lost three with eight draws.

But they only remain three points behind league leaders Arbroath in second place and Dodds says the club are in good form and a good position to challenge for top spot.

"You see how hard they are working, they are just not getting the rewards of points.

"In the last eight games we are seven unbeaten with one loss.

"Over the piece, 10 wins, eight draws and four defeats all season out of 22 games, we are doing pretty well. We need to make sure we get wins on the board.

"Everybody will look at this and think that should have been three points because Dunfermline are bottom of the league, everybody down there is giving their lot to stay in this league.

"Points are valuable and you can’t underestimate them, aye we’re disappointed and yes we should have more on board but we are doing ok, and we are having big spells in game, every manager will tell you that.

"But plenty of points on board and plenty to play for."
